‘400 tonnes of food aid delivered to people of Gaza by UAE’
The United Arab Emirates, in collaboration with the American Near East Refugee Aid (Anera), has successfully delivered 400 tonnes of food aid to the people of Gaza, specifically targeting the northern Gaza Strip. This initiative, aimed at providing life-saving assistance to around 120 thousand individuals, reflects the UAE’s commitment to alleviating the humanitarian crisis in Gaza.
Reem Al Hashimy, Minister of State for International Cooperation, expressed the UAE’s dedication to supporting the Palestinian people and addressing the challenges in Gaza, emphasizing the importance of solidarity during times of crisis. Sean Carroll, President and CEO of Anera, also expressed gratitude for the UAE’s support in delivering vital food supplies to the region, where the needs are pressing.
With an allocation of US million from the Amalthea Fund to support aid efforts in Gaza, the UAE continues to work closely with international partners to ensure the effective delivery of relief through various means of transportation. So far, the UAE has delivered over 31,000 tonnes of humanitarian supplies through air, land, and sea, demonstrating a comprehensive and sustainable approach to addressing the needs of the people in Gaza.
In addition to food aid, the UAE has undertaken several long-term relief projects in Gaza, including the establishment of automatic bakeries, provision of flour to existing bakeries, and the setup of desalination plants to provide clean water to hundreds of thousands of individuals on a daily basis. These efforts underscore the UAE’s commitment to supporting the people of Gaza and promoting sustainable solutions to alleviate suffering and improve living conditions.
