‘Swedish Music Duo Blends Country, Rock, and Pop in ‘Knock Knock”

Bara Jonson and Free, the dynamic duo from Rinkaby, Sweden, known for their genre-defying sound, have just dropped their latest single, “Knock Knock” (Dance Plant Records) – out now.

Infusing elements of Country, Rock, and Pop into their distinct Crockpop style, band members Jonas Tancred and Malin Osth deliver a compelling anthem with “Knock Knock”. The track signifies their passion and affection for live performances, heralding their highly anticipated return to the stage. It embodies a sense of new beginnings, hope, and the rebuilding of the music community after the challenges of pandemic-induced lockdowns and social isolation.

Reflecting on the shared sentiment of yearning for live music experiences, Jonas Tancred emphasizes, “There was a time, not long ago when the world found itself deprived of all live music.” The duo also expresses their longing to revisit Newfoundland, their cherished second home, and reunite with the spirited locals, as previously depicted in their song “Hello Newfoundland”.

According to Malin Osth, “Knock, Knock” is more than just a song; it symbolizes resilience, optimism, and the unbreakable connection between musicians and their fans. Known for their innovative sound, Bara Jonson and Free have received accolades such as a nomination for ‘Best Emerging Artist – International’ at the Indie Week Showcase Festival in Toronto and being selected as INES#Talent 2020-21. They have graced stages in numerous countries, including Sweden, Denmark, Holland, Germany, UK, France, and Canada.

In addition, the duo established Lilla By Festivalen, a unique festival bridging folk and showcase themes to promote unsigned artists from around the world. They have also showcased their talent at various international events such as the Mood Indigo virtual festival in Bombay and the Future Echoes showcase festival in Norrköping.
