Pia Wurtzbach Named ‘Global Fashion Influencer of the Year’ in Dubai

Starting out in the fashion world, Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach has already outshone several fashion influencers from various countries. She was chosen to receive the “Global Fashion Influencer of the Year” award at the fourth edition of the EMIGALA Fashion & Beauty Awards in Dubai on April 27 and 28.

The EMIGALA event aims to recognize members and contributors in the fashion and beauty industries from around the world, celebrating different lifestyles and cultures represented in the global fashion and beauty landscape.

Despite it being her first time attending the Milan and Paris Fashion Weeks last year, Pia secured the sixth spot on the list of “most visible influencers” by the influencer marketing platform Lefty.io. She earned USD 2.95 million or P166.9 million in media value (EMV) due to her social media presence during the fashion week events.

Reflecting on her experience, Pia shared that she had previously participated in New York Fashion Week but had never experienced the fashion weeks in Milan or Paris. Her husband, Jeremy Jauncey, expressed his pride in Pia’s accomplishments in the international fashion scene and how she continued to persevere despite challenges.

In light of her success in the fashion world, Pia is often compared to fashion icon Heart Evangelista. Miss Universe 2015 reminded both her critics and supporters to refrain from spreading negativity and pitting women against each other. She emphasized that there are many ways for everyone to shine and succeed without resorting to tearing others down.
