International conference on antimicrobial resistance to be hosted by MoHAP
The UAE is taking a significant step in the global fight against antibiotic resistance with the launch of the 7th UAE International Conference on Antimicrobial Resistance (ICAMR) in Dubai. Scheduled to be held on February 23 and 24, the conference is organized by the Department of Health – Abu Dhabi, the Dubai Health Authority (DHA), Emirates Health Services (EHS), and the Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP).
With a focus on promoting expertise sharing, advancing health services, and highlighting the importance of continuous education and innovation in healthcare, the event is expected to draw over 600 professionals, including doctors, consultants, nurses, and technicians from the UAE and 18 other countries. Under the patronage of Abdul Rahman bin Mohammad bin Nasser Al Owais, Minister of Health and Prevention, the conference aims to address the challenges of antibiotic resistance and showcase the latest research and innovations in antimicrobial treatments.
Fifteen leading pharmaceutical and medical equipment manufacturers dedicated to combating antibiotic resistance will participate in the conference, with more than 38 experts from around the world presenting 32 specialized talks. Interactive workshops will also be organized to engage attendees and facilitate knowledge sharing.
Dr. Najiba Abdul Razzaq, Conference Chair and Consultant of Internal Medicine at Kuwait Hospital in Dubai, emphasized the importance of the 7th edition of ICAMR in providing a platform for healthcare professionals to collaborate and address the urgent issue of antibiotic resistance. The conference will offer attendees the opportunity to explore new treatment approaches, exchange experiences, and enhance their expertise in the field.
