“Enoc Group remains committed to sustainable development, joins Earth Hour 2024”

Enoc Group Demonstrates Commitment to Sustainability and Energy Efficiency

Enoc Group has once again reaffirmed its dedication to sustainability and energy efficiency by participating in “Earth Hour 2024: The Biggest Hour for Earth.” In line with global and local sustainable development goals, Enoc joined millions of individuals worldwide in taking collective action against climate change. On March 23, from 8.30PM to 9.30PM, the company turned off non-essential lights at its headquarters and operational facilities. Service station forecourts, convenience stores, quick oil change, carwash areas, and pylon signs all remained dark for an hour.

Saif Humaid Al Falasi, Group CEO of Enoc, expressed the company’s commitment to promoting sustainable development initiatives that contribute to positive environmental change. Enoc aims to raise awareness about the importance of optimizing energy consumption and encourages both its staff and the larger community to minimize their environmental impact and practice energy conservation.

During Earth Hour 2024, Enoc saved a total of 408 MWh of electricity, equivalent to reducing 1,944 kg of CO2 emissions. The company’s Environmental & Resource Management (E&RM) initiatives from 2014 to 2023 have resulted in a 23 percent decrease in specific energy consumption (from 0.67 GJ/ton to 0.516 GJ/ton) and an increase in water recycling from 2 percent to 24.86 percent. These achievements were made possible through various projects such as waste heat recovery initiatives in the refinery, propane sphere projects at the MTBE facility, solar PV implementation at service stations, rooftop solar installations at sites, and other energy and water conservation measures. Enoc’s efforts highlight its ongoing focus on environmental sustainability and resource management best practices.
