“Cleveland Clinic Ranks Second Globally in 2024 Hospital Rankings”

Cleveland Clinic Recognized as Second-Best Hospital in the World

For the sixth consecutive year, the Cleveland Clinic main campus has been named the second-best hospital in the world, according to Newsweek’s list of the World’s Best Hospitals. The 2024 rankings, released recently, also spotlighted two additional Clinic locations in the top 250 hospitals globally. The health system’s Abu Dhabi location secured the 186th spot, while its Fairview hospital ranked 232nd.

Clinching the second spot worldwide and in the U.S. hospital category, the Clinic follows Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. Five more Clinic locations made it to the list of best U.S. hospitals, with Fairview Hospital ranking 38th, Florida at 45th, Akron General at 93rd, Hillcrest at 112th, and Avon at 336th.

Dr. Tom Mihaljevic, Cleveland Clinic CEO, expressed pride in the recognition, attributing it to the dedication and commitment of their 81,000 caregivers worldwide. Following Mayo Clinic and the Cleveland Clinic, other top global hospitals included Johns Hopkins in Baltimore (No. 3), Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston (No. 4), and UCLA Health – Ronald Reagan Medical Center (No. 5).

Meanwhile, University Hospitals secured the 154th spot on the World’s Best Hospitals 2024 list and ranked 28th in the U.S. Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi clinched the title of the No. 1 hospital in the United Arab Emirates.

Newsweek collaborated with Statista, a data gathering firm, for the annual ranking, which encompassed data from 2,400 hospitals across 30 countries. The rankings considered various data sources, including online surveys, patient experience surveys, hospital quality metrics, and patient reported outcome measures.

It is noteworthy that the Newsweek rankings differ from those released by U.S. News and World Report. In the latest U.S. News and World Report rankings, Cleveland Clinic secured the fourth position nationally after Mayo Clinic, Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, and NYU Langone Hospitals in New York.

These recognitions serve as a testament to the unwavering commitment of healthcare providers worldwide to deliver exceptional care to patients and communities.
