Apple Announces AirPods Head Gestures, iPad Calculator, and More Today’s Releases
Apple recently held its 2024 Worldwide Developers Conference keynote in Cupertino, California, unveiling a range of exciting new features for AirPods, iPhone, iPad, and Mac devices. While the event focused on AI and integrating ChatGPT into Siri, Apple also introduced several quality-of-life improvements that will enhance the user experience.
One of the standout announcements was for AirPods Pro, which will now support head gestures. Users can nod up and down to answer a phone call or shake left and right to reject it. Additionally, AirPods Pro will feature voice isolation technology to reduce background noise and expand spatial audio for gaming.
Another significant update is the integration of ChatGPT into Siri, made possible through a partnership with OpenAI. This integration will enhance information retrieval and provide a more personalized experience for users across iOS 18, iPadOS 18, and macOS 15 Sequoia.
iPhone users can look forward to improved personalization options, such as customizing their home screens, lock screen controls, and app icons. Messaging upgrades include support for formatting options, scheduled messages, and RCS support for better communication with Android users.
For Mac users, MacOS 15 Sequoia will introduce iPhone mirroring capabilities, allowing users to control their iPhones from their computers, view notifications, and drag and drop content seamlessly.
In a long-awaited move, the iPad will finally receive a built-in calculator app in iPadOS 18, complete with support for Apple Pencil. This app will include features like Math Notes, enabling users to write down math problems for the app to solve.
Overall, Apple’s latest announcements at WWDC 2024 demonstrate the company’s commitment to innovation and enhancing the overall user experience across its range of devices.
