This year marked the third edition of the ALX Dog Walk, which featured a lively “pawty” in the park followed by a leisurely two-mile group walk. The event successfully raised over ,000, with a portion of the funds earmarked for donations to organizations such as Friends of the Mount Vernon Trail, Potomac Conservancy, and Plastic Pollution Coalition. Chapman mentioned that additional nonprofit beneficiaries would be determined soon.
Attendees enjoyed a variety of activities, including a dog contest, sustainable giveaways, and educational displays at the Sustainability Festival and Nonprofit Village, all set to the backdrop of live music. Chapman expressed her gratitude to the volunteers, board members, and event partners who contributed to the success of the day. She also acknowledged Chuck Bell from NBC4 and Charlotte Hall for their support in making the event memorable.
The combination of historic Union Street, waterfront views, sunny weather, and enthusiastic participants made this year’s ALX Dog Walk a standout success. The event exemplified the community’s commitment to promoting sustainable living while celebrating the bond between dogs and their humans.
