‘400 tonnes of food aid delivered to Gaza in the occupied Palestinian territory by UAE’

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has announced the successful delivery of 400 tonnes of food aid to the people of Gaza, in collaboration with American Near East Refugee Aid (Anera). The aid, specifically intended for the northern Gaza Strip, aims to feed around 120 thousand people and address the humanitarian crisis in the region.

Her Excellency Reem Al Hashimy, Minister of State for International Cooperation, emphasized the UAE’s commitment to solidarity with the Palestinian people and alleviating suffering in Gaza. The UAE, in partnership with international organizations, continues to intensify efforts to ensure aid reaches those in need.

Sean Carroll, President and CEO of Anera, expressed gratitude for the support from the UAE, enabling the delivery of essential food aid to northern Gaza where the needs are critical. The UAE has allocated USD 15 million under the Amalthea Fund to support aid flows in Gaza and collaborates with partners to deliver food and relief by land, air, and sea.

To date, the UAE has delivered over 31,000 tonnes of humanitarian supplies through various means, including flights, airdrops, trucks, and ships. Additionally, the UAE has implemented sustainable relief projects such as establishing automatic bakeries, supplying flour to existing bakeries, and setting up desalination plants to provide food and water to the people of Gaza.

The UAE’s proactive approach to addressing the humanitarian crisis in Gaza demonstrates its commitment to supporting those in need and providing vital assistance to alleviate suffering in the region.
