New President of Heart Valve Society from Mount Sinai performs surgery
Dr. Mohamad El-Hamamsy has been appointed as the 11th president of the Heart Valve Society, taking over from Carlijn Bouten, PhD, MSc. With a background on the board of directors for the society, El-Hamamsy is committed to fostering collaborations and encouraging innovation during his term.
The Heart Valve Society, which aims to reduce the global burden of heart valve disease, brings together cardiologists, cardiac surgeons, and other healthcare specialists. Since its inception in 2015 with the first annual meeting held in Monaco, the society has continued to hold gatherings in various countries such as the United States, Spain, and the United Arab Emirates.
El-Hamamsy’s leadership as president will focus on further advancing the goals and mission of the Heart Valve Society. With a wealth of experience and expertise in the field, he is poised to drive the society towards new opportunities for collaboration and innovation in the fight against heart valve disease.
