Expo City Dubai Set to Host 2025 Asia Pacific Cities Summit
In a historic first for the Middle East, Expo City Dubai has been selected as the host city for the prestigious 2025 Asia Pacific Cities Summit (2025APCS) & Mayors’ Forum. Scheduled to take place from October 27 to 29, 2025, at the Dubai Exhibition Centre, this event will bring together mayors, city leaders, and business figures from across the Asia Pacific region to discuss and shape the cities of tomorrow.
The decision to choose Dubai as the host city for the 2025APCS follows competitive bidding from cities across the region, underscoring Dubai’s growing importance as a key hub connecting the Middle East, Africa, South Asia, and the wider Asia Pacific. Organized by Brisbane City Council in collaboration with Expo City Dubai and Expo Dubai Group, the summit aims to promote sustainable urban growth and investment opportunities in the face of global challenges.
Her Excellency Reem Al Hashimy, UAE Minister of State for International Cooperation and CEO of Expo City Dubai Authority, expressed her pride in Dubai’s selection as the host city. She highlighted the city’s strategic location near Al Maktoum International Airport and the Dubai Exhibition Centre, emphasizing Dubai’s role as a hub for collaboration in sustainable development. Al Hashimy also pointed to the insights gained from Expo 2020 Dubai and other global initiatives that will inform the discussions at the summit.
His Excellency Abdulla Mohammed Al Basti, Secretary General of The Executive Council of Dubai, emphasized Dubai’s commitment to smart infrastructure and effective climate action. He stressed the summit’s importance in advancing urban resilience and economic growth, highlighting Expo City Dubai’s significant contribution to these efforts.
The 2025APCS, with a legacy spanning 28 years and previous editions hosted in global cities such as Seattle and Incheon, aims to drive innovation in urban solutions. Brisbane’s Deputy Mayor Krista Adams praised Dubai as an ideal venue to further the summit’s global impact, building on the success of the 2023APCS in Brisbane, which showcased AUD 2.3 billion in city projects.
With Expo City Dubai’s recent hosting of COP28 and other landmark events, the 2025APCS is poised to advance sustainable urban development on a global scale.
