“Zayed International Airport Praised as a Modern Marvel”
A recently reviewed KPF-designed terminal at Zayed International Airport in Abu Dhabi has been praised as “an airport like no other” by the UK’s most read newspaper. The Daily Mail’s Ted Thornill had high praise for the terminal, noting its efficiency, amenities, and striking design that draws inspiration from the region’s desert landscape and Islamic heritage.
The Departure Hall, with its 50-metre-high, largely column-free space, caught Thornill’s attention, calling it impressive enough to be a tourist attraction. The terminal has already become an icon for the region and even made an appearance in Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One.
Thornill pondered whether this could be the world’s best airport, praising Terminal A as a near-perfect concept that all airports should aspire to replicate. Despite Singapore’s Changi Airport being named the World’s Best at the 2023 Skytrax World Airport Awards, Thornill expressed confidence that the Abu Dhabi project could snag the title in the future.
The impressive features and design of the Zayed International Airport terminal have captured the attention of travelers and industry experts alike. For the full article from The Daily Mail, click here.
