‘Worldwide Musicians Set to Perform at Festival in Glasgow’

Glasgow is set to host an exciting cultural event in September that will draw musicians and artists from around the world. Sonica 2024, taking place from September 19 to 30, will feature a diverse lineup of talent from Scotland and beyond.

The festival kicks off with Alessandro Cortini, a member of Nine Inch Nails, who will be performing his Nati Infiniti project for the first time in Scotland. Other highlights include the RSNO’s performance of John Luther Adams’s Pulitzer Prize-winning Become Ocean and live visuals from Alba G Corral.

Attendees can also look forward to performances from artists such as Heft from Myanmar, No Plexus from the Netherlands, and a cyborg pop concert from NEKO3 and Alexander Schubert. The festival will showcase 30 years of Cryptic, a Glasgow-based creative company known for its innovative audiovisual art.

Cryptic’s founding artistic director Cathie Boyd expressed excitement about the event, highlighting the platform it provides for both international and Scottish artists. With installations free to experience and pay-what-you-can live events, Sonica 2024 aims to engage audiences in a unique artistic experience.

Glasgow Life’s senior projects and programmes manager Katie Duffy emphasized the diverse and outstanding lineup of talent at Sonica 2024, describing it as a highlight of Glasgow’s cultural calendar. The festival offers a range of multimedia experiences, performances, premieres, and collaborations, ensuring there is something for everyone to enjoy.
