‘Woodlands Community Extravaganza to Feature Fine Arts Festival and Empty Bowls Event at John Cooper School’

The John Cooper School recently held its annual Fine Arts Festival, showcasing the artistic talents of its students to family and the public. Typically held in the autumn, this year, the spring showcase delighted attendees in The Woodlands.

Head of School Dr. Stephen Popp explained that the decision to move the festival to spring was due to a busy autumn event schedule in the area. He highlighted the importance of the Fine Arts Council, a group of dedicated parent volunteers, who support arts education at the school.

Popp described the event as a community celebration of the arts, featuring student performances, art exhibits, and activities for all to enjoy. The festival also included the Empty Bowls project, an annual student-led initiative to benefit Interfaith of The Woodlands’ food pantry.

Interfaith Executive Director Missy Herndon praised the John Cooper students for their involvement in addressing food insecurity and their support of the community through the Empty Bowls project. She emphasized the importance of educating students about giving back to the community and expressed gratitude for the school’s continued support.

The event was a success, bringing together the school community and highlighting the artistic talents and generosity of the students.
