‘Virgin Atlantic secures junior loan for A350-1000 delivery from Tamweel Aviation Finance’

Tamweel Aviation Finance, a subsidiary of Novus Aviation Capital, has provided a junior loan to Virgin Atlantic for the purchase of a 2024 vintage A350-1000 aircraft. The aircraft was delivered on May 24th, 2024, and this financing arrangement has allowed Virgin Atlantic to seamlessly integrate the state-of-the-art aircraft into its fleet.

Simon Clements, Executive Vice President at Novus Aviation Capital, expressed excitement about welcoming Virgin Atlantic as a new customer and highlighted the commitment to providing innovative and flexible financing solutions. This partnership marks a significant milestone for Novus Aviation Capital in supporting Virgin Atlantic’s fleet expansion and sustainability goals.

Ansar Hussain, VP of Corporate Finance at Virgin Atlantic, emphasized the airline’s dedication to innovation and collaboration with top partners. The addition of the Airbus A350 to their fleet will contribute to their fleet transformation, enabling them to operate one of the youngest and cleanest fleets fully financed through to Q4’25.

The financing was structured as a “French optimized lease,” with La Banque Postale, MUFG, and Natixis CIB acting as senior lenders and mandated lead arrangers. Additionally, Natixis CIB served as the lease arranger and agent for the transaction, with Itasca MGA providing insurance for the senior loan.

This partnership between Tamweel Aviation Finance, Novus Aviation Capital, and Virgin Atlantic demonstrates a commitment to sustainability, operational efficiency, and long-term growth in the aviation industry.
