‘Upgraded features for Music app to be unveiled at WWDC’

Apple enthusiasts are eagerly anticipating the upcoming WWDC 2024 event scheduled for June 10th. The technology giant is expected to unveil exciting AI features for iOS 18 and Siri. Rumors suggest that many Apple apps will now offer AI-generated summaries of on-screen content, promising a significant makeover for the digital assistant.

In addition to AI enhancements, Apple is rumored to introduce audio-related features to its Music app, focusing on smoother audio transitions and a mysterious “Passthrough” feature. The improved crossfade feature, dubbed “smart song transitions,” will allow for seamless transitions between songs with customizable fade-in and fade-out durations.

The “Passthrough” feature, speculated to be a rebranding of Spatial Audio with Dolby Atmos, will enhance the audio experience on the Music app and QuickTime. Users can expect surround sound effects and an immersive audio experience without the need for an Apple Music subscription. This feature will also be available on Mac devices running macOS 15.

Apple is also reportedly working on hands-free audio control for gaming and a feature called “Spatial Gaming,” focusing on optimizing audio accessories for gaming purposes. With WWDC 2024 approaching, excitement is building around the potential innovations and improvements that Apple will unveil at the event.
