‘Upcoming Family Medicine Conference: April 22-24’

The 7th Emirates Family Medicine Society Congress is set to take place from April 22nd to 24th at the Dubai World Trade Centre. This annual event, supported by Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, is considered a premier gathering for family medicine in the GCC and Middle East.

This year’s congress will delve into significant advancements such as the utilization of artificial intelligence and the metaverse in family medicine, along with the pivotal role of primary care centers. The event will feature key figures from the Dubai Health Authority, the Emirates Genetic Diseases Association, and various leaders from the Gulf Cooperation Council and the Middle East. Notable international experts, including speakers from the American Academy of Family Physicians, will also be participating.

Organized by the Emirates Family Medicine Society in collaboration with prominent figures from the Dubai Health Authority, the congress will see the presence of esteemed individuals such as Awadh Seghayer Al Ketbi, Dr. Marwan Al Mulla, Dr. Ahmed Al Neaimi, Fatima Abbas, Saleh Al Hashimi, and Dr. Maryam Matar, Founder and Chairperson of the UAE Genetic Diseases Association.

The focus of this year’s congress will be on the impact of AI and metaverse technologies on healthcare, in alignment with the UAE’s commitment to integrating AI into medical services as part of its AI strategy and the UAE Centennial 2071 vision.

Prof Dr. Wadeia Mohammed, President of the Emirates Family Medicine Society, emphasized the significance of the congress in promoting the latest trends in family medicine and facilitating the exchange of best practices. He highlighted the crucial role of AI in enhancing patient care, supporting healthcare professionals, and improving therapeutic outcomes.

Since its establishment in 2018, the congress has witnessed annual growth in stature and participation, underscoring its importance in showcasing global advancements in family medicine, including the latest in prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and innovative technologies.
