“Two Years of Mentorship and Support Offered by WCC Start-Up Incubator for New Businesses”

Washtenaw Community College (WCC) is currently accepting applications for its 2024 Start-Up Incubator Program, scheduled for cohorts in March, June, and October. The two-year program aims to provide education and coaching for future and current business owners to help them turn their business ideas into successful ventures, as stated by WCC.

According to WCC Entrepreneurship Center Director Michelle Julet, this is the second year of the program, which saw a cohort of 20 entrepreneurs last year. Julet emphasizes that the program follows the entrepreneur’s journey, offering a supportive learning environment to participants.

Since its inception, the program has evolved to better meet the needs of participants by focusing on building leadership skills and peer support through the cohort. This year’s program will highlight peer accountability groups and other supportive elements to help cohort members on their path to business ownership.

Julet distinguishes WCC’s program by its long-term nature, focus on whole-person skills, and the involvement of volunteers and mentors from the greater Washtenaw County community. She emphasizes that the program is designed to reflect WCC’s mission by helping individuals realize their dreams of creating their businesses.

While the application deadline for March’s cohort has passed, interested individuals can still apply for June’s cohort from March 1 to May 15, or for October’s cohort from June 1 to September 15. More information and applications are available on the Entrepreneurship Center’s website.
