Treatment for lung inflammation scheduled for Saudi king

Saudi King Salman is set to receive treatment for a lung inflammation at Al Salam Palace in Jeddah, according to the state news agency. The 88-year-old monarch will be undergoing a programme that includes antibiotics to address the inflammation.

This comes after King Salman underwent medical tests at the royal clinics at Al Salam Palace due to symptoms of a high temperature and joint pain, as reported by the state news agency.

In April, the king was admitted to the hospital for a routine checkup, according to state TV. King Salman ascended to the throne of the world’s top oil exporter in 2015 after serving as the crown prince and deputy premier for over two years. As the custodian of Islam’s holiest sites, his health concerns are closely monitored by the public.
