Top ranked airports of 2024 revealed with Changi losing top spot

Doha’s Hamad International Airport has surpassed Singapore’s Changi Airport to claim the title of the world’s best airport, according to the latest rankings from air transport rating firm Skytrax. This marks the third time Hamad International Airport has secured the top spot, having previously won in 2021 and 2022.

The Skytrax survey, which involved travelers from over 100 nationalities, also recognized Hamad International Airport as the best airport in the world for shopping. Despite losing its first-place position, Changi Airport was named the “Best Airport in Asia” and received the title of “World’s Best Airport Immigration Service” in this year’s rankings.

Incheon International Airport in South Korea climbed to third place, earning the distinction of being the world’s most family-friendly airport. Tokyo’s Haneda Airport followed in fourth place and was lauded as the “World’s Cleanest Airport,” having processed 70 million passengers in 2023 — the highest among all airports on the list.

Meanwhile, Narita International Airport, also in Tokyo, secured the fifth spot and was praised for its customer service, winning the title of “World’s Best Airport Staff.”

The rankings, determined based on questionnaires sent to airport customers between August 2023 and March 2024, assessed various airport services such as check-in procedures, transfer experiences, immigration clearance, shopping options, and departures.
