Toolkit for a Sustainable Dinner
In celebration of Great Big Green Week, London Climate Action Week, and Grow Urban Festival, the Sustainable Restaurant Association is encouraging restaurants across the UK to host sustainable suppers in June. To support this initiative, they have created a free toolkit filled with essential tips on how to organize a sustainable supper event.
Great Big Green Week is the UK’s largest celebration of community action to combat climate change and preserve nature. This year, the event will take place from June 8th to 16th under the theme “Let’s swap together for good,” emphasizing the power of small swaps to make a significant impact.
Simultaneously, the Grow Urban Festival will hold a week-long series of events throughout London focusing on ‘Greening and Growing.’ Through various activities such as workshops, demonstrations, site visits, and networking opportunities, the festival aims to educate individuals on sustainable living and city greening.
There are many benefits for restaurants to participate in hosting a sustainable supper event, including engaging with customers, showcasing sustainability commitments, testing new menu ideas, boosting social media presence, and collaborating with organizations like The SRA, Great Big Green Week, and the Grow Urban Festival.
Restaurants are encouraged to sign up for Great Big Green Week and host a sustainable supper during June. Businesses in London can also have their events featured as part of the Grow Urban Festival. Downloading the free sustainable supper toolkit will provide valuable guidance on how to get started.
To take the next steps, restaurants can reach out to hello@thesra.org to receive event support and promotion on social media channels. It is also possible to access branded assets and communications assistance. By registering for Great Big Green Week and adding their event to the GBGW website, restaurants can gain extra visibility and attract attendees interested in sustainable events.
