‘Tony Leung Chosen as President of Tokyo Film Festival Jury’

Tony Leung, a veteran Hong Kong actor, has been appointed as the president of the international competition at this year’s Tokyo Film Festival. Expressing his gratitude for this prestigious role, Leung shared his deep connection to Japan and its film industry, dating back to his childhood days in Hong Kong when he first fell in love with classic Japanese movies.

Having previously participated in the Tokyo Film Festival in 2000 with “In the Mood for Love,” Leung’s impressive career includes works such as “A City of Sadness,” “Cyclo,” and “Lust, Caution.” He has also appeared in globally recognized films like “Hero,” “Infernal Affairs,” and “Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings.”

The Chairman of the Tokyo Film Festival, Ando Hiroyasu, expressed his excitement over Leung’s appointment, highlighting his esteemed reputation as one of the most revered Asian actors in the international film industry.

The Tokyo Film Festival is scheduled to take place from October 28 to November 6. With Leung leading the international competition, the festival is set to showcase a diverse range of quality films and provide an adventurous and engaging experience for attendees.
