‘The Latest Group of Astronauts’

NASA’s latest group of astronaut candidates has graduated from their training at the Johnson Space Center in Houston. Known as “The Flies,” these men and women are now ready for spaceflight missions to various destinations, including the International Space Station, the Moon, and beyond.

Chosen from a pool of over 12,000 applicants in 2021, the astronaut graduates underwent more than two years of rigorous training in spacewalking, robotics, and other essential skills. The diverse group includes individuals from different backgrounds, such as Nichole Ayers from Colorado, Marcos BerrĂos from Puerto Rico, and Deniz Bunham from Alaska.

Alongside the NASA candidates, astronauts from the United Arab Emirates, Mohammad AlMulla and Nora AlMatrooshi, also completed their training and participated in the graduation ceremony. Applications to become a NASA astronaut are now open for aspiring space explorers.
