The Benefits of Using Chevrolet’s Electric Truck for Home Power with Solar Integration
GM Energy is offering a new way for customers to power their homes using their electric vehicles. The VRH Energy Bundle, which includes the GM Energy Powershift Charger and the V2H Enablement Kit, comes at a price tag of ,299. Additional installation costs and taxes will vary depending on local factors, with GM Energy partnering with Qmerit to provide installation services.
In the near future, GM Energy plans to integrate solar energy options into their offerings, allowing consumers to offset some of the costs by using solar power to charge their EVs and power their homes during emergencies.
With an increasing number of electric vehicles set to support bidirectional charging, including models from Ford, Hyundai, Kia, and Volvo, the trend towards using EVs to power homes is set to grow. Tesla is also expected to join the movement by introducing bidirectional charging capabilities to its cars by 2025.
