Testing of Higer’s Azure A12BR e-bus in Cuiabá, Brazil’s central-west city

Cuiabá, a city with scorching temperatures reaching up to 41 degrees Celsius in the Mato Grosso State of Brazil, is now testing China’s Higer electric 12m low floor bus, the Azure A12BR e-bus. The bus was supplied by Higer Bus Co Ltd of Suzhou, Jiangsu Province, China through its local representative, TEVX Motors Group Ltd of São Paulo, SP.

The trials in Cuiabá follow the bus’s successful use at COP 28 in Dubai, UAE, as well as real-time operational tests in Curitiba, Paraná. The electric bus will now operate in Cuiabá for 30 days on various routes, where it will be evaluated by multiple operators including Caribus, Integração, Rápido Cuiabá, and VPAR in the city and state.

All drivers and operators involved in the trial have received training, focusing on optimized and intelligent driving practices to maximize the vehicle’s performance. TEVX Motors highlighted that the regenerative braking system of the bus can increase autonomy by up to 30%, improve vehicle availability, and reduce operational costs.

The trial of the Higer electric bus in Cuiabá represents a significant step towards sustainable and environmentally friendly public transportation in the region. With the potential benefits of reduced emissions and operating costs, the successful implementation of electric buses could pave the way for more widespread adoption of clean transportation solutions in Brazil.
