‘Stylish Architects create America’s inaugural Mercedes-Benz residential high-rise’

Mercedes-Benz has revealed its first branded skyscraper in North America as part of a collaboration with ShoP Architects, featuring a design philosophy centered around “sensual purity.”

Known as Mercedes-Benz Places, this 67-story mixed-use skyscraper is currently under construction in the Brickell neighborhood of Miami. Developed by JDS Development Group (JDS), the project was jointly designed by New York-based SHoP Architects and the Mercedes-Benz design team, encompassing a massive 2.5 million square feet (232,257 square meters).

Considered one of the largest ongoing projects in Florida, the development includes the transformation of Miami’s Southside Park by landscape studio Field Operations, aiming to create a healthy living space surrounded by trees and native vegetation.

Foundation work for the skyscraper has already commenced, with the building set to achieve completion by 2027. The collaboration between JDS and SHoP Architects marks their fourth project together, following the completion of the Brooklyn Tower and two distinct copper-clad towers in New York.

This unveiling in Miami follows Mercedes-Benz’s unveiling of its inaugural branded skyscraper in Dubai. Additionally, the luxury car brand Bentley has also shared its plans for oceanfront residences in Miami featuring a patented car elevator that transports vehicles directly to individual apartments.
