Stars of ‘Megalopolis’ showcase at Cannes red carpet premiere

The Cannes Film Festival recently showcased the world premiere of the epic science fiction drama ‘Megalopolis’, written, directed, and produced by legendary filmmaker Francis Ford Coppola. This marked Coppola’s return to the prestigious festival, where he had previously premiered classics like Apocalypse Now and The Conversation, winning the Palme d’Or for each.

The star-studded ensemble cast of ‘Megalopolis’ includes Adam Driver, Shia LaBeouf, Aubrey Plaza, Laurence Fishburne, Grace Van der Waal, Chloe Fineman, and Giancarlo Esposito, who graced the red carpet at the Grand Theatre Lumiere. Coppola looked elegant in a black suit, while Nathalie Emmanuel shone in a white dress, and Adam Driver turned heads in a white suit.

Notable guests in attendance at the gala included Jury Members Omar Sy, Nadine Labaki, President of the Jury Greta Gerwig, as well as celebrities like Teyana Taylor, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, and Irene Jacob.

‘Megalopolis’ follows the story of Cesar Catilina, played by Driver, an artist striving for a utopian future, and Mayor Franklyn Cicero, portrayed by Esposito, who clings to a regressive status quo. Socialite Julia Cicero, played by Emmanuel, finds herself torn between the two men, torn by love and the quest for a better world.

The film boasts a stellar ensemble cast, including renowned names like Jon Voight, Talia Shire, Dustin Hoffman, and Kathryn Hunter, making it one of the highly anticipated releases of the year.
