Spring Festivities at the Japanese Festival

The Fort Worth Botanic Garden is hosting the Spring Japanese Festival on April 20-21, inviting guests to experience the rich traditions of Japan in a beautiful garden setting. In collaboration with the Fort Worth Japanese Society, the festival will feature cultural demonstrations, performances, shopping opportunities, and traditional Japanese cuisine.

2024 is the year of the wood dragon in the Japanese zodiac, symbolizing renewal, change, and rebirth, much like the arrival of spring. Visitors can expect to witness captivating cultural demonstrations, including tea ceremonies, martial arts performances, and a special musical performance by the Cherry Blossom Children’s Choir.

The festival will also offer a variety of shopping opportunities with vendors selling authentic Japanese crafts, clothing, and artwork. Attendees can indulge in delicious Japanese dishes prepared by skilled members of the Fort Worth Japanese Society and Asian-themed food trucks.

Festival admission includes access to the Fort Worth Botanic Garden’s Dinosaurs Around the World and Seward Johnson Sculptures in the Garden exhibits. The Japanese Garden at FWBG was recently recognized as the most peaceful place in Texas and one of the quietest in the world by earth.fm.

Tickets can be purchased at the Garden or online at fwbg.org. FWBG Members receive free entry to the festival. Regular garden hours are from Monday to Sunday, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., with admission prices of for adults, for seniors 65+, for children 6-15, and free for children under 5 when purchased online. Parking is free in FWBG’s main lot and remote parking area during regular business hours.
