‘Smokin’ Jacks and Matt Gauger Band to Perform Together’

The University Program Council is gearing up for the annual May Day Music Festival at South Dakota State University. This year’s festival, the ninth installment, promises a fun-filled evening with live music from the Smokin’ Jacks and the Matt Gauger Band, as well as free SDSU ice cream, Cheezy Noodlez, and La Petit Crepe food trucks. Attendees can also enjoy bouquet making supplies (first-come, first-served), plant potting, yard games, free prizes, and SDSU merchandise.

Originally started in 2015 by KSDJ, the festival is now organized by the UPC and in partnership with KSDJ, Hand Tied Floral & Gift, and the Residence Hall Association. The event will take place this Friday from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Volstorff Ballroom in the University Student Union. Coordinator Annie Feden expressed excitement for the festivities, emphasizing that the festival is a great way to unwind and celebrate the end of the school year, not just for students but for the community at large.

Students are encouraged to show their support by spreading the word on social media. The Mayday Music Festival can be found on Instagram at @sdsupc and on Facebook at @South Dakota State University Program Council. Get ready to kick back, relax, and enjoy the music at this year’s May Day Music Festival.
