‘Simplify Kubernetes Migration and Replication with CloudCasa, Enhancing Microsoft Azure Kubernetes Service Support at KubeCon+CloudNativeCon Europe’
CloudCasa by Catalogic has unveiled the latest version of its CloudCasa platform, featuring new migration and replication workflows aimed at simplifying key Kubernetes use cases. These include migrating on-premises clusters to the cloud, cloud-to-cloud migration, replicating production environments for test and development, disaster recovery, and migrating locally between various Kubernetes configurations. The update also brings new cloud integration and manageability features to enhance the backup, restore, and disaster recovery capabilities of CloudCasa, as well as its capacity to centrally manage Velero installations in large and complex environments.
Specifically designed for Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) customers, the new migration workflow enables the migration of AKS worker nodes to Azure Linux, storage volumes from Azure Disk to Azure Container Storage, and migration from other cloud-managed Kubernetes services and on-premises Kubernetes environments to AKS. The solution is available for purchase via the Azure Marketplace or the Microsoft Azure portal.
CloudCasa’s solution provides robust protection for Kubernetes environments, offering a cyber-resilient and cloud-integrated backup, disaster recovery, and migration solution for cloud-native applications. As the first backup service built with Kubernetes for Kubernetes environments, CloudCasa supports multi-cluster, on-premises, and multi-cloud application resiliency and mobility workflows. It facilitates granular recovery across accounts, regions, and even across different clouds. With support for major Kubernetes cloud services including AKS, Amazon EKS, and Google GKE, as well as popular Kubernetes distributions like Red Hat OpenShift, SUSE Rancher, and VMware Tanzu, CloudCasa delivers a comprehensive solution for Kubernetes data protection, disaster recovery, migration, and replication.
Ryan Kaw, Global VP of Sales at Catalogic, expressed excitement about the new migration and replication workflows introduced by CloudCasa, highlighting their ability to capture cluster and cloud configuration along with persistent data with each backup. The company collaborated with the Azure Linux team to validate CloudCasa’s capability to upgrade AKS worker nodes to Azure Linux with the new migration workflow.
CloudCasa enables cross-cluster, cross-tenant, cross-region, and cross-cloud recovery, replication, and migration by capturing cluster and cloud configuration. Its cloud integration features facilitate the movement of entire clusters, including virtual networks, load balancers, add-ons, and more.
The CloudCasa team recently showcased the Kubernetes migration and replication workflows at KubeCon + CloudNativeCon Europe 2024 in Paris, France.
