Simplified process of obtaining ‘work permits’ in UAE: Work Bundle platform provides in five days

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has introduced a new platform called Work Bundle, which has revolutionized the process of acquiring work permits and residency visas in the country. This platform has significantly reduced processing times from nearly one month to just five days, a remarkable improvement that will benefit both individuals and businesses.

Work Bundle has simplified the required documentation, reducing the number of documents needed from 16 to five. In addition, the number of visits to service centers has been reduced from seven to just two, making the whole process more efficient and convenient.

This integrated platform combines procedures from various government entities, including the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (Mohre), Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Ports Security (ICP), Dubai Health Authority (DHA), Department of Economy and Tourism, and the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA).

Initially launched in Dubai, the platform will soon be expanded to other emirates in the UAE. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, has emphasized the platform’s role in simplifying residency and work permit procedures, saving millions of working days in the process.

The Work Bundle platform is part of the UAE’s digital transformation efforts, aiming to streamline business establishment and management for private companies. By reducing the paperwork and visits required for these processes, the platform cuts down waiting and processing time from 30 working days to just five. This will lead to significant cost savings for both the government and private sectors.

Employers and employees alike can benefit from Work Bundle, which offers a single platform for completing various employment services, including renewal, cancellation, medical examination, and fingerprinting. The platform is currently accessible on the ‘Invest in Dubai’ website and mobile app, with plans to expand to other government digital platforms and the ‘Work in UAE’ website.

Overall, the introduction of the Work Bundle platform in the UAE demonstrates the country’s commitment to innovation and efficiency in its processes, benefiting individuals, businesses, and the economy as a whole.
