Significant Improvements in Abu Dhabi’s Operations

AD Ports Group released their impressive 2023 financial results, showcasing significant growth in both revenue and profitability. The Ports Cluster saw a 13% increase in container throughput, reaching 4.91 million TEU, largely due to enhanced operations at Khalifa Port.

Moreover, general cargo volumes surged by 26% to 40 million tonnes, while ro-ro volumes experienced a remarkable fourfold increase, totaling 777,000 vehicles. Despite challenges in the Red Sea region affecting the Aqaba Cruise Terminal, cruise passenger volumes soared by 183% in 2023.

The Maritime & Shipping Cluster also performed exceptionally well, with all operational indicators showing strong growth. The total vessel fleet expanded to 226, up from 178 in 2022, boosting capacity across various shipping segments. Feeder container port calls rose by 34%, with feeder container traffic volumes escalating by 70% to 525,000 TEU last year.

AD Ports Group’s success in 2023 demonstrates their resilience and commitment to delivering outstanding results, not only in Abu Dhabi but also on a global scale. These positive outcomes highlight the Group’s strategic vision and operational excellence, positioning them as a key player in the maritime industry.
