‘Sheikh Sultan inaugurates Al Hefaiya Lake project in Kalba’

The Al Hefaiya Lake project in Kalba was recently inaugurated by His Highness Dr Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammad Al Qasimi, the Ruler of Sharjah. The project, spanning 1.8 kilometers, has been deemed as a significant tourism and development initiative for the area, providing a picturesque destination suitable for visitors of all ages. With an expansive area of 132,000 square meters and the capacity to hold up to 155 million gallons of water, the lake is a substantial addition to the region. It is supplied by a surrounding canal and equipped with monitoring and control systems to ensure its sustainability. This project not only serves as a crucial water reservoir for Kalba’s residents but also promotes biodiversity in the area while offering a new and exciting tourist attraction.
