‘Scottsdale Family ArtsFest at SkySong to be Held on March 22-23’

The Scottsdale Family ArtsFest is set to make a return in late March, celebrating the visual and performing arts created by students in the Scottsdale Unified School District. The event, known as the Scottsdale Family ArtsFest at SkySong, will take place on March 22 and 23 at SkySong, The ASU Scottsdale Innovation Center in south Scottsdale.

The Family ArtsFest is a collaboration between Arizona State University, the Scottsdale Unified School District, Scottsdale Arts, the city of Scottsdale, and the SkySong development team. This two-day festival aims to showcase creativity through performances, interactive demonstrations, creative interventions, and local food trucks offering culinary delights on the SkySong campus.

Attendees can expect to witness performances and art exhibitions by Scottsdale Unified School District students, family-friendly arts activities presented by Scottsdale Arts Learning & Innovation, as well as interactive demonstrations from various Scottsdale departments. Dr. Scott Menzel, Superintendent of the Scottsdale Unified School District, expressed excitement about the opportunity to showcase the work of visual and performing arts students in a community setting.

Gerd Wuestemann, President and CEO of Scottsdale Arts, also emphasized the importance of the event in enhancing the local arts scene and showcasing the talent of students in the community. Additionally, the Scottsdale Community Partners will host the Alli Ortega Empty Bowls fundraiser during the festival to support various SCP programs in partnership with the City of Scottsdale Human Services.

The event will kick off on Friday, March 22, from 5 to 9 p.m. and continue on Saturday, March 23, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Various areas will be available for exploration, including the Main Stage for performances, the Art Exhibitions in SkySong Building 1 featuring works by SUSD students, Arts Zone Activities, the Café Stage for more performances, and the Community Café where attendees can engage with Scottsdale partners and participate in activities.

Organizers and partners are looking forward to another successful year of the Scottsdale Family ArtsFest at SkySong, highlighting the importance of arts in the community and providing a platform for local students to showcase their talents.
