Reviewing the New Haircare Line by Beyonce: My Honest Feedback

Embracing natural hair can be a journey of self-discovery for many Black women, including myself. Transitioning to my natural hair almost a decade ago meant figuring out my curl type and finding the right products. Back in 2014, there was a surge in Black women embracing their natural hair without chemicals, leading to many sharing their routines and product reviews online. Inspired by this, I started experimenting with different products that suited my hair, even on a college student’s budget.

As someone with low-porosity 3c hair, maintaining moisture has always been a challenge. Protective hairstyles were my go-to at first, but as I learned more about my hair, I found styles like wash-and-go, two-strand twists, and Bantu knots worked best for me. When Beyoncé launched her hair care line, Cécred, I was curious to see how it would work for my hair.

Cécred’s products cater to all hair types, focusing on moisture and strength. The Clarifying Shampoo & Scalp Scrub stood out to me for its ability to deeply clean the scalp, removing buildup and residue. The hydrating shampoo with African oil blend and hyaluronic acid left my hair feeling soft and manageable without stripping its natural moisture.

The treatment mask, infused with Bioactive Keratin Ferment, aimed to reduce hair damage and increase strength. While I didn’t notice a huge difference in my hair due to lack of damage, I believe it could be beneficial for those with damaged hair. The rice and protein ritual provided strength and length retention, leaving my curls feeling stronger and softer.

Cécred’s moisturizing deep conditioner, sealing lotion, and hair oil added moisture and shine to my hair, making styling easier and keeping my curls defined. While the products were on the pricier side, their quality and effectiveness make them worth considering, especially for those looking to maintain healthy, natural hair.

Overall, I would give Cécred a 7 out of 10 for its luxurious feel, effective products, and commitment to natural hair care. The only drawback for me was the higher price point, but the beautiful packaging and quality ingredients make the products stand out in the market. If you’re looking to invest in your natural hair journey, Cécred is definitely worth a try.
