Request for Donations to Support Tomorrow’s Warriors’ £100k #Iamwarrior Appeal Target

Tomorrow’s Warriors, a leading jazz talent development organization and charity, is calling for donations for its #IAMWARRIOR appeal. With a deadline of 30th April (International Jazz Day) approaching, the appeal aims to raise £100k to support its Young Artist Development Programme and Emerging Artist Programme, both of which are free to access.

The organization has released a video featuring renowned musicians Shirley Tetteh, Sultan Stevenson, and Romarna Campbell, who are part of Tomorrow’s Warriors’ Music Leader Faculty. These musicians, who have benefited from the program themselves, are urging those who care about the future of UK jazz to donate at www.gofundme.com/IAMWARRIOR2023.

Guitarist Shirley Tetteh emphasized the importance of Tomorrow’s Warriors in supporting black musicians, stating that the organization played a pivotal role in her career. Pianist Sultan Stevenson praised the organization for empowering young people with limited resources to pursue careers in music. Drummer Romarna Campbell highlighted the necessity of supporting Warriors to ensure the continuation of their impactful work.

Since the launch of the #IAMWARRIOR appeal, Tomorrow’s Warriors has raised £71k in donations. However, the organization still needs support to reach its target. The Tomorrow’s Warriors Tap Room Takeover at the Brick Lane Jazz Festival will showcase the work done by the charity, featuring 10 bands and emerging artists.

As funding cuts continue to impact youth services and education budgets, Tomorrow’s Warriors’ work becomes even more vital. Donations to the organization help bridge the gaps in education and youth services, providing young people with quality jazz tuition, inspiration, and a creative community.

The charity is experiencing an increase in demand for its talent development program, highlighting the growing need for support. By donating, individuals can help sustain the UK jazz ecosystem and support the next generation of jazz musicians.
