‘Reinventing Hotel Madrid Gran Vía 25 with Meliá and Rafa Nadal’

The “Madrid Gran Vía 25 Affiliated by Meliá,” previously known as the Tryp Gran Vía, is set to undergo a significant transformation into a “Zel” brand hotel by Meliá and Rafa Nadal.

Situated at 25 Gran Via, this 175-room hotel, currently holding a 3-star rating, is owned by the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority (ADIA) and operated by Meliá Hotels International.

Under the supervision of the Álvaro Sans studio (ASAH), a complete renovation project is in progress to elevate the hotel to a 4-star establishment with larger rooms. The owner is investing €13 million in this project, with an expected completion date in 2025, marking the reopening of the hotel.

The transformation reveals the identity of one of the four “Zel” hotels Meliá is developing. It joins ‘Zel Costa Brava,’ set to open this summer, alongside ‘Zel Sayulita’ in Mexico and ‘Zel’ in the Dominican Republic, both on track for 2025. These additions complement the initial ‘Zel Mallorca’ hotel in Palmanova, scheduled to debut in June 2023.
