Record-breaking night of prayer draws thousands to Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque

The Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi saw an overwhelming number of worshippers on the 27th night of Ramadan. A total of 70,000 people attended prayers, with 11,589 performing Taraweeh and 59,091 praying Tahajjud. The mosque also provided Iftar meals for 33,500 individuals.

Sheikh Idris Abkar, the imam of the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, led the prayers and prayed for the security, prosperity, and guidance of the UAE, as well as asking for forgiveness for the Founding Fathers.

The mosque was filled with worshippers from diverse backgrounds, congregating in the halls, corridors, and courtyards to partake in the special prayers.

Besides the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi, other mosques across the UAE also attracted large numbers of worshippers. At the Sheikh Khalifa Grand Mosque in Al Ain, 28,850 individuals attended prayers, with 3,734 participating in Isha and Taraweeh prayers, and 25,116 joining the Tahajjud prayer.

Similarly, at the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in Fujairah, 13,634 worshippers gathered, with 2,318 performing the Isha and Taraweeh prayers, and 11,316 attending the Tahajjud prayer. It was a night of heartfelt prayers and spiritual connection for many across the UAE.
