Recognizing Outstanding Filipino Women in Manitoba

Pinays Manitoba recently held its annual Trailblazers Recognition Awards at the Viscount Gort Hotel, where exceptional Filipino women were honored for their contributions to the community. The event, which took place on May 11, 2024, saw a significant turnout to celebrate this year’s honorees.

The event, organized by Pinays Manitoba Inc., aimed to showcase and celebrate women who demonstrate leadership, inspiration, and motivation through the Pinays Manitoba Trailblazers initiative. This year, four Trailblazer Awardees were recognized alongside three Young Pinays Awardees, highlighting the diverse achievements of Filipino women in Manitoba.

In her speech, Pinays Manitoba president, Winnie Navarro, commended the awardees for their progressive efforts in breaking barriers and making a difference in the community. The event also saw the launch of the 2024 Outstanding Young Pinays of Manitoba initiative, with three inspiring young women being honored for their achievements and passion for hockey.

The evening featured a lineup of talented entertainers, including performances by Rochelle Kives, Paul Ong, and Trailblazer awardee Andrea Macasaet. A special tribute to mothers was also a highlight of the program, with Nena Joy Lazo delivering a heartfelt homage to all mothers in attendance.

The event was emceed by Meghan Marquez and Lucille Nolasco-Garrido, with various committees and volunteers working together to ensure the success of the evening. Special thanks were extended to the sponsors for their support of the event.
