Recipient awarded Inspire Iowa grant

The Figge Art Museum in Davenport is one of six tourism entities in Iowa to receive a portion of a 0,000 grant from the Iowa Economic Development Authority (IEDA).

Last week, IEDA announced the grants for projects in various counties across the state. The grants are part of the Inspire Iowa program launched by the Iowa Tourism Office and Iowa Arts Council, both divisions of IEDA. The program aims to enhance Iowa’s reputation as a cultural destination and attract out-of-state visitors to support economic growth.

The Figge Art Museum plans to use its ,000 grant to showcase the traveling exhibition, Walter Wick: Hidden Wonders!. This exhibit will allow guests to delve into the visual world of Mr. Wick’s popular “I Spy” series, offering a nostalgic experience. As the exclusive Midwest venue for this exhibition, the Figge will promote the exhibit and Davenport as a must-visit destination for out-of-state visitors.

Other grant recipients include Orchestra Iowa for “Field of Dreams,” the National Czech & Slovak Museum & Library for the Alphonse Mucha Exhibit, the Des Moines Art Center for the Firelei Baez Exhibition, the Museum of Danish America for the Danish Ceramics: Beyond Blue and White Exhibition, and the Sioux City Art Center/Art Center Association of Sioux City for the Razzle Dazzle building art wraps.
