‘Rebecca Cheng Participates in Climate Lighthouse Forum at Shanghai Climate Week’
Rebecca Cheng, a Principal at KPF, recently participated in a panel discussion alongside experts from the business and sustainable development sectors to explore how design can help drive sustainable cities. The panel, titled “Climate Lighthouse Future Buildings and Communities,” took place during the inaugural Shanghai Climate Week on April 23.
Joining representatives from Cushman & Wakefield, the World Economic Forum, GRESB China, Hong Kong Land, and Fangda Partners, Rebecca shared insights on how timeless architecture can play a significant role in supporting institutions’ sustainability goals. The Climate Lighthouse Forum, organized by Shanghai Climate Week and the Rockwell Automation Initiative, was co-sponsored by Lingang Group, Hong Kong Land, Cushman & Wakefield, and Deloitte.
The event, held at Shanghai’s West Bund, provided a fitting backdrop for the discussion, as KPF has designed the West Bund Financial Hub at that location. This project is set to become the first community in China to achieve LEED Platinum and Well Community Platinum precertification. Rebecca emphasized that KPF’s designs are intended for long-term use, with a focus on sustainability, environmental friendliness, and flexibility.
