‘Ramadan Programme Brings Joy to Hong Kong Youth at Local School’

The Consulate General of the United Arab Emirates in Hong Kong recently initiated a program to share the spirit of Ramadan with local youth in the region. As Muslims around the world engage in fasting, self-restraint, sacrifice, and compassion during this Islamic month, the Consulate General sought to extend the values of the Holy Month to students at the Islamic Kasim Tuet Memorial College.

The Consulate General organized special activities and distributed iftar packages to students at the Hong Kong government-aided secondary school. Students participated in Ramadan and Islamic-themed events, with UAE Consul General in Hong Kong H.E. Sheikh Saoud Almualla commending their involvement by awarding certificates. In his speech, he underscored the significance of upholding values of tolerance, inclusion, and peace.

The initiative also included the distribution of iftar packages to 400 students and staff at the school, reflecting the tradition of sharing food during Ramadan. The Consulate General aims to promote generosity, spiritual renewal, and the nurturing of faith through this program.

By engaging with local youth and spreading joy within the community, the Consulate General of the UAE hopes to cultivate meaningful relationships and foster a spirit of unity and understanding. The event highlighted the multicultural nature of the school and echoed the diversity found in the UAE, emphasizing the harmonious coexistence of various nationalities within the region.
