Premier of Korean Dance Festival in Scotland

A highly anticipated Festival of Korean Dance is set to make its Scottish debut before heading back to London for its seventh consecutive year. The festival promises a diverse range of performances that showcase the beauty of traditional Asian values in a contemporary light.

Opening at Tramway in Glasgow on 16 May, the festival will kick off with a double bill featuring “Tomorrowisnowtodayisyesterday” by Sung Im Her and “Flight” by Melancholy Dance Company. The tour will then continue to Dance City, The Place, and Pavilion Dance South West.

Among the lineup is “Burnt Offering” by 99Artcompany and “Cheok” by Ae-soon Ahn, the former Artistic Director of Korea National Dance Company, who will be making her UK debut. The shows will all take place at The Place in London, with additional performances at Pavilion Dance South West in Bournemouth, Dance City in Newcastle, and The Lowry in Salford.
