‘Praise for UAE’s Support of Arab Nations by Arab Inter-Parliamentary Union’

During the 36th Arab Inter-Parliamentary Union (AIPU) Conference in Algiers, the AIPU showered praise on the United Arab Emirates (UAE) for its unwavering support towards Arab countries, with a special emphasis on Palestine.

Highlighting the UAE’s commendable efforts, the AIPU specifically lauded the nation’s leading role in providing humanitarian aid and medical assistance to the Gaza Strip. The UAE’s diplomatic initiatives to alleviate the humanitarian crisis in Gaza were also recognized, particularly during its tenure as a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council, which resulted in the adoption of UN Security Council Resolution 2720.

Furthermore, the AIPU applauded the UAE’s significant contributions towards securing a resolution in the UN General Assembly, receiving 143 votes, advocating for full membership for the State of Palestine and ensuring its rightful privileges in international and regional forums.

The AIPU also acknowledged the UAE’s exceptional endeavors on various levels, including its hosting of the 28th UN Climate Change Conference (COP28) and active participation in global efforts to combat climate change, an increasingly urgent global issue.

Notably, the Federal National Council’s parliamentary delegation, led by Tariq Humaid Al Tayer, First Deputy Speaker of the FNC, alongside several FNC members, represented the UAE at the conference. This recognition underscores the UAE’s commitment to advancing peace, stability, and cooperation among Arab nations.

In conclusion, the AIPU’s accolades serve as a testament to the UAE’s impactful and far-reaching initiatives on the Arab, regional, and international stage, positioning the nation as a key player in promoting dialogue, cooperation, and progress.
