‘Pine Cone’ to be shown at BFI Flare LGBTQIA+ Film Fest in London

Filmmaker Onir’s acclaimed movie “Pine Cone” has been selected to be screened at the prestigious 38th British Film Institute Flare: London LGBTQIA+ Film Festival next month. The event is well-known as one of the world’s most significant queer film festivals, and Pine Cone will be shown on March 21 and 22.

Expressing his excitement, Onir stated, “This film is a labor of love, and I am immensely proud of the journey it has taken from its inception to this moment. Pine Cone is more than just a film; it’s a testament to the power of storytelling and the importance of LGBTQ+ narratives in cinema. “Pine Cone” follows the story of a gay man through three decades of his life, exploring his relationships. The movie features talented newcomers Vidur Sethi, Hanun Bawra, Aniket Ghosh, Amit Gurjar, Damandeep Singh Chaudhary, and Sahib Verma in key roles.

The screenplay for the film is crafted by Ashwini Malik and Onir, who have also produced the movie alongside Anish, Sanjay Suri, Sanjay Routray, and Kewal Garg. “Pine Cone” is presented by Matchbox Pictures Pvt Ltd in association with Onir’s Anticlock Films.

Prior to its selection at the British Film Institute Flare festival, “Pine Cone” has already received accolades, including the ‘Rainbow Stories award’ at The Indian Film Festival of Melbourne and an ‘Honorable Mention – Best Feature’ at the International South Asian Film Festival Canada. This recognition further solidifies the film’s place as a powerful and impactful contribution to LGBTQ+ cinema.
