‘Over 550,000 children utilize counters at DXB since introduction’

Over 550,000 children have enjoyed a unique experience at Dubai International Airport (DXB) since specially dedicated immigration counters were introduced last April. The General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) revealed that these counters in Terminals 1, 2, and 3 allow kids to stamp their passports themselves, creating a more engaging and enjoyable process.

By the end of last year, nearly 435,000 children had completed their travel procedures through these counters, with an additional 119,000 passing through in the first quarter of this year. Lieutenant General Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri, Director General of the GDRFA, shared this update during a visit to DXB on the first day of Eid Al Fitr.

In addition to this news, Lieutenant General Al Marri highlighted the remarkable increase in Golden Residency visas issued in Dubai in 2023 compared to the previous year. A total of around 158,000 visas were issued across all categories, nearly double the 79,617 visas issued in 2022 and a significant jump from the 47,150 issued in 2021. This growth reflects Dubai’s commitment to attracting talent and investment through its Golden Visa program.
