“Over 400,000 Passengers in Dubai Helped During Severe Weather at Airports and Ports”
Dubai’s air, land, and seaport officials have successfully managed to maintain a smooth flow of passengers despite recent adverse weather conditions. Thanks to their dedication and hard work, disruptions for travelers have been minimized.
Major General Mohamed Ahmed Al Marri, Director General of the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) in Dubai, directly supervised the operation, contributing to improved cooperation and efficiency in passenger movement. The airport, land, and sea ports team went above and beyond in their efforts, surpassing aviation challenges and providing top-notch services to a total of 419,047 passengers on April 15, 16, and 17.
The outstanding performance of the team was achieved through their flexibility, efficiency, prompt response, and proactive handling of emergency situations. This has further enhanced the positive reputation of officers at Dubai’s air, land, and sea ports.
Major General Al Marri commended the team for their exceptional efforts and highlighted the importance of collaboration with partners to meet public service objectives and enhance passenger satisfaction levels. This dedication and professionalism exhibited by the employees reflect Dubai’s status as a premier travel and tourism destination.
The GDRFA works closely with airport management and partners to prioritize traveler safety through the implementation of policies and procedures aimed at providing a qualitative travel experience. In cases of inclement weather, flight delays may occur as a precautionary measure to ensure passenger safety.
Despite the challenges posed by changing weather conditions, Dubai has demonstrated its ability to handle emergencies efficiently through proper planning and teamwork, guaranteeing passenger safety and service quality.
On April 15, Dubai’s airports welcomed 195,803 passengers, with 111,346 arrivals and 84,457 departures. The following day saw 133,801 passengers, with 55,520 departures and 78,281 arrivals. On April 17, 75,245 passengers passed through the air, land, and sea ports, compared to 136,376 passengers the day before. Overall, approximately 207,426 passengers were processed across all ports on April 15.
