Opening Weekend of the 2024 Night of Artists – Fine Art Revelry

The Briscoe Western Art Museum is gearing up to host its highly anticipated Night of Artists exhibition, featuring more than 280 new artworks by over 85 Western artists. The pieces on display will cover a range of themes, including landscapes, wildlife, portraits, and depictions of Native Americans and cowboys.

During the opening weekend on March 22-23, 2024, the museum will offer various events such as a collectors’ summit, preview dinner, awards breakfast, live auction, exhibition opening, and a “luck of the draw” sale. From March 24 to May 5, unsold works will be available for viewing and purchase at fixed prices. Tickets for the opening events can be purchased through the museum’s website.

Situated along the iconic San Antonio River Walk, the Briscoe Western Art Museum’s main building was originally a public library built in the 1930s. Following a thorough renovation, the museum opened its doors in 2013, with a branch of the public library still operating on the first floor.

The museum is named in honor of the late Texas Governor Dolph Briscoe, Jr., and his wife, Janey Slaughter Briscoe, who envisioned a space that would showcase the rich history of Western heritage and the remarkable individuals who shaped it. This year marks a significant milestone for the museum as it has just released its first publication that surveys its vast and expanding permanent collection.
