‘Opening Ceremony for Short Shorts Film Festival & Asia 2024 on June 4th’

The Short Shorts Film Festival & Asia (SSFF & ASIA) 2024 is set to kick off with an Opening Ceremony on June 4 at LINE CUBE SHIBUYA in Japan. This prestigious festival, accredited by the Academy Awards® and known as one of Asia’s largest international film festivals, will showcase outstanding short films from around the world.

The event will feature the world premieres of TUBE×GACKT’s short film “Goodbye for now.” and Stray Kids’ short film “Stray Kids <樂-STAR (ROCK-STAR)> SKZFLIX”, with the latter also being part of the Korean Short Film Program during the festival. Additionally, actors and directors involved in the WOWOW Actors Short Film 4 project will present their works, and Festival President Tetsuya Bessho and Ambassador LiLiCo will introduce this year’s lineup.

Tickets for the Opening Ceremony are now on sale, with Korean pop star Kevin Woo, Taiwanese Actress Shu-Fang Chen, and journalist/filmmaker Shiori Ito joining the ceremony. The event will also feature nominated filmmakers and actors from various competition categories.

Exciting announcements include the launch of the U-25 project supported by Japan Airlines (JAL) and the presentation of seven awards, including the Amic Sign Award and the SHIBUYA DIVERSITY AWARD. JAL will provide air tickets to young Japanese filmmakers to further their careers.

Moreover, a Creators Meetup Lounge will be held at LINE CUBE SHIBUYA, where filmmakers, audiences, and industry representatives can connect, share ideas, and foster new collaborations. Popular YouTuber Cinemanshon will also be livestreaming from the venue.
