CareRite Centers Honors Healthcare Workers with Family Fun Days at Major Attractions
In a commendable initiative to express gratitude towards frontline healthcare workers, CareRite Centers organized exclusive Family Fun Days, allowing staff and their families to enjoy thrilling attractions at prominent venues. This effort comes as part of CareRite’s ongoing commitment to recognize the invaluable contributions of healthcare professionals working across its 35 facilities located mainly in New York, New Jersey, Tennessee, and Florida.
The Family Fun Days began at Nickelodeon Universe, the indoor theme park located in the American Dream Mall in East Rutherford, NJ. On February 23, hundreds of doctors, nurses, and their families were treated to private access to the park, offering an exciting getaway from their routine responsibilities. In addition to the New Jersey event, CareRite further expanded the event series by hosting gatherings at two Dave & Buster’s locations—one in Tennessee on March 3 and another in Florida on March 18.
Ashley Romano, Chief Experience Officer of CareRite Centers, emphasized the importance of acknowledging healthcare workers and their families. “We just wanted to say thank you, especially to the families,” she stated in an interview with McKnight’s Long-Term Care News. Romano noted that family members often bear the brunt of the irregular hours and demanding schedules typical in healthcare professions, making these acknowledgments particularly meaningful.
The inaugural Family Fun Day took place in 2022 at Nickelodeon Universe, with this year’s events representing a significant expansion of the initiative to include other regions served by CareRite. Romano knows firsthand the challenges healthcare workers face, having spent over 20 years in the industry, with a decade dedicated to CareRite. This personal understanding fueled her passion to make this year’s events even more inclusive.
The Family Fun Days provided a full day of fun, featuring unlimited access to rides, buffet meals, and various raffle prizes—ranging from gaming consoles like the PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch to high-end kitchen appliances and popular toys. Romano highlighted the joy of seeing families create lasting memories together in a safe environment, free from the usual stressors of their demanding jobs.
“Long, grueling days are never easy,” Romano shared. “But at CareRite, employees’ hard work doesn’t go unnoticed. It was a feel-good day, where you could see a sea of people who dedicate their lives to making the world a better place.”
This gesture not only underscores CareRite Centers’ appreciation for their healthcare teams but also reflects a growing trend within the industry to promote well-being and work-life balance among healthcare professionals.
